      Fu Mingxia was selected into the Chinese Junior diving team in 1989 at the age of 11. In less than 2 years, she captured the platform diving gold medal at the World Swimming Championships.

      At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, the 15-year-old girl took the gold medal with an outstanding performance. Her winning dive was printed on the front cover of Time Magazine. She was also registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest Olympic champion.

      Mingxia continued her winning streak by winning gold medals at all major international tournaments. She conquers the world with her quick and beautiful dives of high difficulties.

      On 8/1/96 in the Cenntennial Atlanta Olympics Games, Fu Mingxia wrote a new page for modern Chinese sports history by sweeping both the 10 meter platform and the springboard gold medals in Olympics.

      Fu Mingxia was elected China's Ten Best Athlete of 1996.
