China's Zheng in Premier League talks

China captain Zheng Zhi on Saturday revealed he is in talks with "one or two" clubs about a move back to the English Premier League. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder impressed during his loan spell with Charlton Athletic but returned to Shandong Luneng when the Addicks were relegated last season. "Currently my agent is talking to one or two English Premier League clubs," Zheng said. "I definitely want to go back to the Premier League but I'm just focusing on this tournament. I'm sure my performances here will be better for my experiences in England." Zheng's men will line up against Iran on Sunday in a re-match of the 2004 Asian Cup semi-final which China won on penalties. "It's an outstanding glory to be captain of the national team but I also have to communicate efficiently with the players and change formations," he said. "Every match is crucial for us as every result will affect the final ranking of the group, especially tomorrow's game. We definitely want to win and finish first." China lead Group C on goal difference after hammering co-hosts Malaysia 5-1 in their opening match. The group winner will avoid a punishing travel schedule in the knock-out stages.
