Stanley Stands between Aaron & Norika's romance?
2001-01-12
Hong Kong - Hong Kong director Stanley Tong finally stepped out to rebuff rumors that he is denying his China Strike Force costars chances to bond romantically, Eonline reported. The 39-year old director for hits like Rush Hour and Martial Law was reported to have prevented Heavenly King Aaron Kwok, 35, from making promotional appearance with Japanese actress Norika Fujiwara, 28, in Taiwan as he was envious of their alleged romance. It was said that Tong wanted Fujiwara for himself. Laughing off the rumors, Tong said that he had no need to pull such a stunt if he wanted to pursue the Japanese beauty as he had always been in contact with Fujiwara. He further stated that the reason the film distributor was worried that Kwok might be overshadowed by Fujiwara if they appeared together. Tong silenced all allegations by hinting that he was considering asking Kwok to star in his next project on the legendary Chinese patriot Yue Fei.
