1998-03-19
After releasing a new album out featuring one of his own compositions, Hong Kong-based popsinger Jacky Cheung has also signed a new contract with Polygram, HK Standard reported. Jacky said that the terms of his new contract are satisfactory, but he won't disclose the exact amount, which is estimated at HK$40 million ($4.5 million). Rumours also have it that singer Leslie Cheung was paid HK$50 million to sign up with another record company. Jacky said that he could only wish that he was paid that much but added that such matters should be kept confidential. He did say though that this year he will have to pay taxes in the seven-digit range.
