Hong Kong - The men are full of praise for her. The women just seem to hate her -- that's Cecilia Cheung for the star-craving Hong Kong island.
Hongkong's King of Canto Pop Leslie Cheung has singled out Cecilia as the next big thing in Hongkong showbusiness. He said she's intelligent and reportedly gave her free acting lessons.
Ekin Cheng, her co-star in Tokyo Raiders which remained top of the box office over the Chinese New Year weekend, also praised her potential.
Singer Ronald Cheng apparently can't take his eyes off her. She is reported to be his latest squeeze.
But the up-and-coming actress doesn't go down as well with her female colleagues.
The latest gossip tidbit in Hongkong showbiz is that she has fallen out with Taiwanese actress Lin Xinru of My Fair Princess - over a hairstylist.
According to Hongkong reports, a hairstylist was doing Xinru's hair when Cecilia arrived at the salon at 6.30 pm, about 1? hours before an award ceremony.
She insisted her hair be done first. So as not to offend anyone, the hairstylist shuttled between the two stars. But Xinru was not amused.
Gigi Leung and Miriam Yeung were also reported to be unhappy with Cecilia. She replaced Gigi as spokesman for a skincare product and was said to be the third party who came between Miriam and Ronald.
