    Wen Ho Lee Case
Washington - Wen Ho Lee, a fired U.S. nuclear scientist, was denied bail on charges he mishandled seven classified computer tapes, the Associated Press said. U.S. District Judge James Parker said ``enormous harm'' to the country was possible if Lee was released, and he encouraged both sides to agree to another lie detector test to help determine what happened to the missing tapes and whether Lee shared the information with another country, AP said.

Lee has pleaded innocent, saying he destroyed the tapes after losing his security clearance, AP said.

Energy Secretary Bill Richardson fired Lee last March for failing an FBI polygraph and refusing to cooperate with the government's investigation into Chinese espionage of U.S. nuclear secrets.
