Jin Yong is the pen name of Louis Cha, a journalist and author of a series of novels set in China's imperial past, known for their colorful characters, beautiful and hard-hitting women and intricate plots.
His novels are widely read in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan and in the Chinese diaspora. They have sold an estimated 300 million copies worldwide.
