Hong Kong - A Hong Kong pop star was arrested for allegedly smoking, singing and brawling aboard an airliner flying from Los Angeles to Taipei, Taiwan.Ronald Cheng, also known as Chen Chung Chi, was held on Thursday after an Eva Airlines flight was diverted to Anchorage to eject him from the plane, according to an affidavit released by the FBI.Cheng, 27, had lit up cigarettes in a no-smoking area and was singing loudly, lying on the floor screaming obscenities, and striking and grabbing at least one passenger and crew members - including a flight attendant he put in a headlock - according to the affidavit. The plane's captain eventually subdued Cheng by hitting him on the head with a flashlight, the affidavit said. The singer was taken to an Anchorage hospital, then charged with assault and interfering with flight crew members and booked into jail, the FBI said. On Friday, Cheng was arraigned before a US magistrate. Local television reports said the judge ordered him to remain in the custody of his mother, who had flown up from California; to remain in Anchorage; and to avoid alcohol and airports. A test showed that Cheng's blood alcohol level was over 0.3 percent at the time of the incident, the FBI affidavit said.
