doesn't like Hongkong, reveals a recent Time Asia interview with the star, Asia E-online reported. "I'm only here because of the work. When that finishes, I'll leave," she says. Then again, she may depart even earlier than that. "The day Disney moves to Hongkong is the day I get out. I mean, the thought of Mickey Mouse pestering me outside my house or coming near me.... Oh god, no thanks!"
The 29-year-old actress-singer isn't a stranger to controversy. In a land still riddled with age-old Chinese traditions, Mok has shaved her head completely bald for Heaven Can't Wait and posed nude for an album cover. Last year, she played a lovelorn lesbian smitten by her best friend in the critically-acclaimed Tempting Heart.
"I've never considered myself run-of-the-mill. Nobody's ever considered me run-of-the-mill. I think a lot of people here think I'm not really one of them," she adds.
Mok's currently in Guangxi, China to shoot a movie in which she plays a devil-may-care gal who hitches a ride with a stranger and gets into all sorts of trouble on a trip to nowhere.
"There're cops and robbers, gunfights... typical road movie stuff," Mok says. "The tone of the movie may be something like Trainspotting, rather avant-gardist."
Production of the movie, tentatively entitled All the Way, is scheduled to wrap by May.
