Asian Pacific Film & Video Festival, running this Friday through May 20.Chan will preview ``Letter,'' an ensemble piece starring Kate Capshaw and Blythe Danner, on Saturday at the Directors Guild of America. The film opens domestically on May 21.
The fest, to be held at both the DGA and Japan America Theatre, will screen close to 80 pictures and videos by Asian-Pacific and Asian-American filmmakers.
Among films slated is Keiko Ibi's Academy Award-winning short documentary ``The Personals: Improvisations on Romance in the Golden Years.'' In addition, three world premieres -- Tom Huang's ``Freshmen,'' Chi Muoi Lo's ``Catfish in Black Bean Sauce'' and Dom Magwili and Stann Nakazono's ``Much Adobo About Nothing'' -- are skedded for screenings as well.
